About The Position

The Data Entry Specialist provides accurate data entry and transcription support for federal personnel records in support of NARA's NPRC mission. This position handles sensitive records and must maintain strict attention to detail, confidentiality, and accuracy.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior computer/data entry experience
• Strong attention to detail, as accuracy is critical for this role
• Basic computer skills, including data entry and keyboarding
• Ability to follow detailed written instructions
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
• Ability to work in a secure records environment
• Ability to pass required NARA background investigation, badging, and drug screen
• Must be a U.S. citizen

Responsibilities

• Accurately enter data into NARA systems, databases, or spreadsheets
• Transcribe information from physical or digital records verbatim
• Proofread data for accuracy, completeness, and formatting
• Follow established procedures for handling sensitive and controlled records
• Meet productivity and quality standards
• Maintain confidentiality of all records and information
• Performs other duties as needed.
