Requirements

  • Two (2) years of experience including college education
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Provide the NIWC Acquisition Team Lead with engineering support services for the USCG IPT Contract.
  • Provide day-to-day engineering support with a focus on design, drafting, and illustrating to include computerized drafting applications, digital imaging techniques, and use of AutoCAD and Inventor.
  • Design and model 3D parts and assemblies to create and provide fabrication and assembly technical drawings for the production and assembly of shipboard design solutions.
  • Analyze design solutions using FEA software to assess stresses on parts and assemblies.
  • Aid in the assembly process of complex products.
  • Conduct quality assurance to ensure parts reflect drawings and standards provided.
  • Utilize 3D printing technology for rapid and effective prototyping and testing of designs.
  • Providing project technical and engineering support, including defining project scope, requirements, solutions, and deliverables; consulting with customers, working groups, and experts as needed; implementing plans to meet goals and objectives; providing recommendations to coordinate and integrate activities and to resolve complex problems impacting installation activities as required.
  • Provide consulting on understanding drawings and technical documentation required to install, troubleshoot, and test C5I and HM&E systems.
  • Provide consultation on data calls from NIWC Customer & leadership as directed.
  • Perform other duties as required.
