About The Position

Under close supervision, performs entry-level data entry and related clerical work using a computer, keyboard, scanner, or other data input equipment to enter, update, verify, and maintain information from source documents into computerized systems. Reviews entered data for accuracy, corrects errors as needed, and performs other related duties as required. NOTE: The examples of work for this title are for illustrative purposes only. Requirements

  • Knowledge of data entry procedures and standard office equipment.
  • Ability to accurately enter, edit, and verify data while maintaining productivity and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prepare and organize documents for data entry and scanning.
  • Ability to identify and correct data entry errors.
  • Ability to operate computers, scanners, and other data entry equipment.
  • Ability to maintain organized records and workflow documentation.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and learn new procedures quickly.
  • Ability to perform routine clerical duties, including filing, recordkeeping, and document processing.
  • Ability to utilize electronic and manual recordkeeping systems after a period of training.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform the duties of the position.
  • Must be a resident of New Jersey.

Responsibilities

  • Enters, updates, and verifies data from source documents into computerized systems.
  • Compiles, sorts, and reviews documents for completeness and accuracy prior to data entry or scanning.
  • Operates computers, keyboards, scanners, and other data entry equipment to input, edit, and retrieve information.
  • Reviews entered data for accuracy, corrects errors, and verifies completed work.
  • Prepares paper documents for digital scanning and verifies scanned images.
  • Searches, retrieves, and updates computerized records as assigned.
  • Maintains production logs, workflow records, and other documentation related to data entry activities.
  • Detects equipment or system issues and reports them to a supervisor.
  • Performs related clerical duties, including filing, coding, record searches, document verification, and maintaining records.
  • Learns and utilizes department-specific software, electronic recordkeeping systems, and office procedures.
