About The Position
The Data Engineering Technical Expert provides senior-level leadership and technical direction for enterprise data engineering, data architecture, and analytics initiatives supporting the U.S. Coast Guard Office of Data and Analytics (CG-ODA). This role leads high-complexity projects involving data modernization, cloud transformation, data governance, and enterprise engineering solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Data Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- CSPO, DHS Mid-Level Project Management Certification, or equivalent.
- 10 years of relevant experience, or 8 years with a Master's degree.
- Experience leading enterprise data engineering projects within federal environments.
- Ability to work effectively remotely in cross-functional teams.
- Ability to meet deadlines and produce quality work.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite software including Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to obtain Public Trust prior to hire and maintain during employment is required.
Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise data engineering and architecture initiatives.
- Develop and implement strategic data engineering roadmaps.
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Oversee compliance with federal policies, standards, and regulations.
- Advise executive leadership on technical investments and modernization efforts.
- Review project deliverables for quality, completeness, and compliance.
- Coordinate stakeholders across multiple programs and domains.
- Support AI, analytics, metadata management, and data governance initiatives.
