About The Position

This role is for a Data Engineering & Operations Specialist at Shelter, a company focused on serving its customers. The position involves designing, implementing, and maintaining data pipelines, data integration solutions, and data architecture, with a specific requirement for expertise in Snowflake for efficient data storage, processing, and analytics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field is preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience as a Senior Data Engineer.
  • Expertise in Qlik Replicate, Compose, and DBTLabs & Astronomer.
  • Hands-on experience in Snowflake.
  • Proficiency in Qlik Replicate, Compose, and Github for data integration, replication, and transformation.
  • Strong understanding of data engineering principles, data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Expertise in Snowflake, including data ingestion, storage, performance optimization, and security.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, such as AWS or Azure, and working with cloud-based data solutions and services.
  • Familiarity with data quality, data governance, and data lifecycle management practices.
  • Solid programming skills in SQL and scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to perform essential functions of the position, with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain data pipelines, data integration solutions, and data architecture.
  • Ensure efficient and scalable data storage, processing, and analytics using Snowflake.
  • Perform data integration, replication, and transformation using Qlik Replicate, Compose, and Github.
  • Utilize DBTLabs & Astronomer for data engineering tasks.
  • Optimize data ingestion, storage, performance, and security within Snowflake.
  • Work with cloud-based data solutions and services on platforms like AWS or Azure.
  • Implement data quality, data governance, and data lifecycle management practices.
  • Manipulate data and automate processes using SQL and scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
  • Diagnose and resolve data engineering issues.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
