This role can be filled in our San Francisco headquarters OR remotely in the US or Canada.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of industry experience as a data engineer or similar role.
  • High code quality and ability to guide others.
  • Experience in creating automated testing, applying design patterns, and other engineering best practices.
  • Expert in Python.
  • Fluency in SQL.
  • Developed maintainable data pipelines with Python and SQL.
  • Experience managing 3 or more people, accountable for their growth and success.
  • Excel at communicating to both technical and non-technical people, with an ability to explain complex concepts simply.
  • Able to contribute individually, outside of reports or team, balancing priorities between being a player (individual contributor) and a coach (manager or mentor).
  • Led several projects from idea generation to planning, execution, and delivery.
  • Working knowledge of how ML/AI applications are deployed and monitored.
  • Motivated to use ML/AI awareness to advance data-driven initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product managers, data analysts, and machine learning engineers to develop pipelines and ETL tasks in order to facilitate the extraction of insights.
  • Establish data architecture processes and practices that can be scheduled, automated, replicated and serve as standards for other teams to leverage.
  • Inform data team strategy by working with the product leaders and managers.
  • Actively participate in execution and some planning of organizational data team strategy.
  • Collaborate with Doximity’s Data Leadership team to ensure alignment and success across the entire Data Organization.
  • Manage individual Data Engineers to foster learning, growth and success at Doximity.
