Newell Brands is seeking a Data Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary, agile team responsible for designing, building, and operationalizing AI-enabled applications across the enterprise. These applications will consume curated data and machine learning outputs and expose intelligence through APIs, user-facing tools, embedded workflows, and automated decision systems. The role involves designing, developing, and deploying production-grade AI applications leveraging machine learning, generative AI, and advanced analytics. Responsibilities include leading the development of AI-enabled services such as decision engines, recommendation systems, forecasting tools, copilots, and agent-based workflows. The manager will translate business problems into scalable AI application architectures, define and evolve the technical architecture for AI applications in partnership with enterprise architecture and platform teams, and build reusable frameworks, APIs, and service patterns. Ensuring seamless integration with enterprise data platforms, model pipelines, and downstream business systems is crucial. The role owns the full lifecycle of AI applications from prototype to production, including monitoring, retraining, and continuous improvement, and implements best practices around MLOps, model serving, prompt management, versioning, observability, security, and responsible AI usage. The manager must ensure AI applications meet enterprise standards for performance, availability, governance, and compliance, and partner closely with data scientists, ML engineers, business intelligence teams, and product owners to deliver end-to-end AI solutions. The position aims to enable faster experimentation by abstracting infrastructure and deployment complexity away from analytics teams and acts as a technical bridge between business stakeholders and AI engineering teams. Additionally, the manager will lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers focused on AI application development, and evaluate and adopt emerging AI tools, frameworks, and development practices.
