About The Position

Schwab is seeking an outcome-driven, results-oriented, well-organized, strategic data technology leader who shares a passion for technology, innovation, people, and excellence. Schwab is in the process of re-architecting and rebuilding its core enterprise data platform to support its rapidly growing and evolving business. This technical engineering leader will be a hands-on lead engineer with technical/business acumen and leadership experience, excelling in a structured, dynamic, fast-moving environment and passionate about developing high-quality, high-performance, and scalable solutions. The candidate will lead and work alongside a team of seasoned engineers whose main objective is to maintain all aspects of system health and ensure the on-time, quality delivery of software releases. This position will be part of the Operational Data Exchange (ODX) Technology team within the Schwab Data organization, focusing on providing Operational Intelligence and Insights, and positioning Schwab to remain a Data Driven organization using a world-class Data Exchange (DX) platform. The DX supports various critical business functions and business units – Schwab Technology Services (STS), Audit, Corporate Tax, Risk, Compliance, etc. This is a role for someone passionate and excited to learn/understand corporate systems, build a solid team, focus on basics and streamline existing systems to make them stable, and build a future-state data platform that will be pivotal to driving client-centricity, reducing time to market, scaling, and increasing efficiency. Requirements

Expertise in ETL development, Data Architecture, Data Modeling, Data Quality, Best Practices, Exception Handling
SQL, Google Cloud Products including BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Composer, Pub/Sub, SQL Server Integration Services
Expertise in Informatica (IDMC/IICS) and Python coding skills
Used AI in development lifecycle to gain efficiency
Business Analysis experience to perform data analysis and guide analysts to translate business requirements to data mapping
Exceptional track record in delivering results and business outcomes
Master’s or bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or similar/equivalent area of study
Minimum of 5 years working in the financial services industry.
Minimum of 10-12 years of solid data engineering experience.
Minimum of 3 years strategic project leadership and delivery experience in matrixed organization
Strong understanding of Data Warehouse concepts (star schema, slowly changing dimensions, fact/dimension modeling) and Operational Data Exchanges/Stores.
Solid understanding of data lifecycle, metadata management, and governance standards.
Good understanding of latest Architecture and Development Standards and Guidelines
Willingness to learn new skills and keep up with technology changes in future to meet business needs.
Demonstrated ability to disagree, debate your case with data, and commit to deliver regardless of the outcome.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required for composing and delivering technical presentations or other forms of documentation to various levels of technical and non-technical management.
Prior experience working with vendor resources in an onshore-offshore model and driving delivery and collaboration for maximum output.
Implement data security controls and access management policies to protect sensitive information.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with and sourcing data from Corporate Systems like Workday, BMC Remedy Helix, Jira, Rally, etc.
Experience providing guidance, direction, and feedback to other technical staff to meet agreed upon objectives.
Ability to analyze, propose and implement timely, cost effective, quality solutions for all issues or problems within area of responsibility.
Proficient managing multiple priorities in a well-organized, dynamic, geographically dispersed environment
Experience implementing streaming and event driven solutions using Confluent Kafka
Data Visualization including report design, use or reporting tools
Experience in dev tools such as GitHub, Bamboo, Liquibase
Experience and demonstrate proficiency in cloud-based technologies (GCP preferred).

Interface with product owner and key stakeholders in Project Management, Business, Development, QA and Technology Operations to ensure high-quality delivery of software projects on time and on budget.
Identify technology risks and dependencies early to establish mitigation plans.
Create and maintain artifacts for production support and deployment processes and ensure smooth hand off to support teams.
Meet periodically with onshore and offshore developers and application support to review and improve processes.
