We are seeking a Data Engineering Intern to support the delivery of data platforms that power Intelcom | Dragonfly’s decision-making. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in building data pipelines, managing cloud-based infrastructure, and working in a fast-paced, innovation-focused environment.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in data engineering, business analytics, or a related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, including Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Python, or related language, for data transformation and analysis.
  • Knowledge of SQL, ETL and database management.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects with accuracy.
  • Adaptable and effective in dynamic environments.
  • Proactive and solution-driven mindset.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Cloud Technologies (Azure and AWS), Snowflake, Apache Airflow, Power BI and DBT is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design and maintenance of databases, data warehouses, and scalable ETL pipelines.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver scalable solutions
  • Implement data validation, cleansing, and governance processes to ensure data quality and reliability.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of data systems and proactively address inefficiencies.
  • Document data engineering processes, data models, and technical specifications to support platform adoption.
  • Ensure compliance with data security standards and implement access controls where needed.
  • The role involves daily (or regular) communication with pan-Canadian stakeholders.
