About The Position

Kwik Trip is seeking a Data Engineer II to join its growing Data Engineering team at the La Crosse Support Center. The role focuses on solving data challenges and building scalable infrastructure, transforming raw data into actionable insights in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. This is a full-time, onsite position in the Information Technology department, working daytime hours Monday through Friday during standard business hours.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience as a Data Engineer.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Advanced SQL skills and experience with relational and big data databases.
• Proficiency in Python and Spark-based data engineering.
• Experience with ELT/ETL tools such as SSIS, ADF, and Apache Spark Delta Live Tables.
• Familiarity with Databricks, Snowflake, Terraform, and stream processing technologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in team settings.
• Excellent communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with natural language processing or statistical modeling.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and source control best practices.

Responsibilities

• Build, test, and maintain data pipelines and architectures.
• Develop real-time integrations and troubleshoot data infrastructure issues.
• Evaluate and implement emerging data technologies.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and data flow diagrams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives.
• Analyze data for trends, anomalies, and optimization opportunities.
• Support data transformation, metadata management, and workload orchestration.
