About The Position

As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and delivery of data-enabled solutions that advance the mission of Thomson Reuters Special Services (TRSS). This role requires strong technical expertise in working with structured and unstructured data, including data integration, extraction, transformation, analysis, and delivery. You will collaborate closely with teams across the technology organization, including product development, software engineering, data science, and business development, to develop innovative solutions that address complex customer challenges. In addition to supporting internal initiatives, you will work directly with customer technology teams to implement, customize, and maintain TRSS solutions and proof-of-concept projects. The role also includes designing and supporting scalable data pipelines and workflows, improving operational efficiencies through automation, providing solution architecture support for business opportunities, and advising leadership on technical capabilities and customer infrastructure requirements. Success in this position requires the ability to understand unique client missions and technical environments and translate those needs into customized solutions that effectively integrate TRSS content into customer applications. This opportunity is specifically for positions located on US Government customer sites in the Washington, DC area. This is not a telework position.

Requirements

  • United States Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance or agency work suitability determination
  • Several years of hands-on data engineering experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong programming skills with languages such as Python and SQL
  • Experience working with RESTful web services
  • Experience with modern data communication technologies
  • Experience with relational and document-oriented databases
  • Experience with a variety of data formats including XML, JSON, flat files, and graph-based data structures
  • Comfortable working in both graphical and command-line environments across Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure, particularly AWS
  • Strong work ethic
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to perform effectively in dynamic, fast-paced environments
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
