About The Position

The Data Engineer is responsible for the technical design and implementation of Data and Analytics solutions across multiple business areas within Johnson & Johnson. You will work closely with Business Technology partners and various Technology Services departments to drive innovative data products for end users, such as Data Scientists, Data Analysts and Business Stakeholders. Additionally, you will develop overall solution architecture, technical delivery, and ensure standard methodologies are followed to optimize shared business outcomes.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required; Computer Science, Information Technology or other technical related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience, or 1 year of professional experience combined with relevant co-op or internship experience, is required
  • Inquisitive — Curious about learning new technologies and approaches
  • Driven — Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and develop innovative solutions
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, collaborating with clients and team members.
  • Hands On – Technical experience building data pipelines and managing Cloud environments
  • Data Engineering (Python, PySpark, SQL, Scripting)
  • Data Platforms (At least 1 - Databricks, MS Fabric, Snowflake, AWS Redshift)
  • Cloud Engineering (At least 1 - AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Business Technology partners to understand existing solutions/products, business needs and priorities.
  • Shape solution design in alignment with overall business strategy and Technology Service’s roadmap.
  • Design, develop, deploy and support scalable data pipelines and data products that enable business intelligence, advanced analytics, and data science use cases.
  • Optimize data solutions and infrastructure for improved performance, reliability, and cost savings.
  • Understand and articulate the benefits of reusable patterns and products developed by the team to potential adopters.
  • Stay current with emerging data engineering, AI-assisted development, and analytics technologies, and proactively recommend innovative approaches that improve engineering productivity, scalability, and business outcomes.
