About The Position

WisEngineering is seeking a Data Engineer with strong analytics and dashboard development experience to support defense programs at Picatinny Arsenal. The role designs, builds, deploys, and maintains data pipelines, applications, and interactive dashboards for tracking prototype performance, modeling and simulation outputs, experimental test metrics, and technical maturation trends. It uses enterprise Army platforms, including Army Vantage (Palantir Foundry), and custom Python workflows to provide Government stakeholders and military leadership with timely, data-driven decision support. The position also involves collaborating with Government engineering teams and program managers to define operational requirements and key performance parameters, aligning data sources and visualization metrics with mission goals, and training Government personnel to use, interpret, build, modify, and sustain dashboards in Army-approved environments.

Requirements

3–7+ years of experience in data engineering, dashboard creation, business intelligence, or data integration.
Advanced proficiency in Python, including data libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, or PySpark.
Proficiency with SQL or standard database query tools.
Direct experience with data platforms such as Army Vantage (Palantir Foundry), Qlik, Tableau, or Power BI.
Practical experience handling complex data sets such as test data, telemetry, modeling and simulation outputs, or systems engineering trade spaces.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience supporting defense initiatives, such as DEVCOM Armaments Center or PEO Ammo.
Hands-on experience creating automated data workflows within Palantir Foundry transforms or code repositories.
Strong background in user-experience principles for executive and operational defense dashboards.
Prior experience delivering technical training or leading adult learning workshops.

Responsibilities

Design, construct, and maintain secure data pipelines connecting defense data repositories, test environments, and modeling and simulation platforms.
Develop data models, ETL processes, and analytic logic using Python, SQL, or other approved languages.
Ensure data integration and integrity, and automate pipeline execution across Army-approved environments.
Build, enhance, and deploy user-centered dashboards and analytical tools in Army Vantage and other business intelligence platforms.
Translate prototype test parameters, modeling and simulation outputs, and trade-space trade-offs into clear visualizations.
Monitor performance trends to support the maintainability and continuous improvement of warfighter systems.
Collaborate with Government engineering teams and program managers to define operational requirements and key performance parameters.
Identify critical data sources and align visualization metrics with mission goals.
Develop and deliver structured training on dashboard use, metric interpretation, and long-term sustainment.
Conduct hands-on workshops to teach Government personnel to build, modify, and manage dashboards independently.
