About The Position

E&M Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Data Engineer to join its team in Alexandria, Virginia, supporting the Defense Resources and Infrastructure Office (DRI). DRI catalogs and analyzes military and civilian infrastructure and defense-related resources to support U.S. and allied planners, targeteers, warfighters, policymakers, partners, and acquisition officials.

The Data Engineer will work with clients to understand their questions and needs, analyze data-rich environments, and develop algorithms and systems that turn disparate data into objective information for decision-making. The role also involves developing a deep understanding of the data, its meaning, and its potential uses. The position is full-time, requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to maintain an appropriate U.S. Department of Defense clearance, and may involve travel up to 10%.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience with statistical and general-purpose programming languages for data analysis.
• Experience analyzing structured and unstructured data sources.
• At least 1 year of experience with R or Python.
• Experience using scientific methods to inform qualitative and quantitative analyses.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must have and be capable of maintaining a U.S. Department of Defense clearance at the appropriate level; the posting lists TS/SCI with CI Poly.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with VS Code, GitHub, Jira, or Confluence.
• Knowledge of DoD intelligence processes, activities, standards, and analytic tools.
• Experience with data gathering, cleansing, and parsing.
• Ability to work in Windows and Linux operating system environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, or Data Science.
