About The Position

Beast Industries is undergoing an AI-first engineering rebuild, aiming to establish the data infrastructure for a company with over 100 million users. This is a greenfield project focused on building data pipelines for real-time telemetry and analytics that will inform product decisions across consumer products, media, gaming, and e-commerce. The role involves owning the event and data infrastructure, including pipelines, platforms, and tooling, to transform raw user behavior into reliable, decision-ready data. This includes operational telemetry for system health and a separate analytics layer for product and business insights, supporting real-time monitoring, long-term metric tracking, and experimentation infrastructure. The event pipelines will handle high-volume user events with robust instrumentation, schema validation, deduplication, late-arriving event handling, and identity stitching.

Requirements

• AI-Native: Proficient in using AI tools daily for pipeline code writing and data quality issue diagnosis.
• Data Platform Builder: 3+ years of experience building and operating production data pipelines for high-volume consumer products.
• Hands-on experience in event instrumentation, schema design, and data quality at scale.
• Business Connected: Ability to understand the product, translate vague requirements into robust pipeline design, and discern user needs.
• Operational and Analytical Thinker: Understanding of the distinct purposes and approaches for operational telemetry and analytics.
• Strong experience with streaming and batch data pipelines, event-driven architectures.
• Experience with at least one major cloud data stack (AWS, GCP, Databricks, Snowflake, or equivalent).

Nice To Haves

• Experience in consumer products, media, gaming, or ads.
• Familiarity with sessionization and identity stitching at scale.
• Prior work alongside data science or product analytics teams.

Responsibilities

• Own, build, and operate the telemetry data pipeline for SRE and operational monitoring, ensuring real-time data freshness, reliability, and observability.
• Own, build, and operate the analytics data pipeline for product and user experience analysis, including event instrumentation, schema design, data quality checks, deduplication, late-arriving event handling, and identity stitching at scale.
• Partner with data science, product, and SRE stakeholders to translate requirements into pipeline design, shaping vague requirements as needed.
• Embed AI tooling into the data engineering workflow to accelerate pipeline development, data quality monitoring, and insight delivery.
