About The Position

We are currently looking for a Data Engineer to join our team in Franklin, TN. The responsibilities listed are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties for this role. This role involves designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines (batch and streaming), ingesting data from multiple source systems, and transforming and optimizing data for analytics and BI. The Data Engineer will ensure data quality, reliability, and performance, implement data pipeline monitoring and alerting, and collaborate with Data Scientists and BI teams. Support for MLOps and analytics workloads is also a key part of the role, including documenting AI for extracting answers, parsing documents, and summarizing unstructured files, as well as utilizing Cortex Search & Knowledge Extensions for retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and Cortex Agents & Analyst for conversational analytics and autonomous workflows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field plus 6 years of experience in data engineering.
  • Advanced SQL skills and proficiency in Python and Snowflake.
  • Hands-on experience with creating data models, database design, and data sets required.
  • Experience with data platforms including Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, and/or Redshift.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT tools including ADF, Airflow, and/or dbt.
  • Experience with streaming technologies including Kafka, Event Hubs, etc.
  • Candidates for this position must be legally authorized to work in the United States and will be required to provide proof of employment eligibility at the time of hire; Nissan uses E-Verify to validate employment eligibility.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Automotive industry experience.
  • Excellent negotiation and cross-functional skills to effectively balance priorities from various functional groups.

  • Experience with AWS and other cloud platforms.
