What you will be doing:
Design, develop, and maintain enterprise data pipelines and data infrastructure that support reporting, analytics, and operational data needs.
Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes to ingest, transform, validate, and load data from internal and external sources into enterprise data platforms.
Design and maintain data models, schemas, and database structures to support efficient data storage, retrieval, and analysis.
Collaborate with data analysts, software engineers, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and integrate new data sources into existing data environments.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain data pipelines and related systems to ensure data reliability, availability, and quality.
Optimize SQL queries, ETL processes, and data storage solutions to improve performance, scalability, and processing efficiency.
Implement automation, documentation, and data governance practices to support maintainable, secure, and compliant data operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in data engineering, with hands-on experience designing, building, and maintaining production data pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks, including building and managing data pipelines using Spark or PySpark in a production environment.
• Minimum 3 years of experience writing and optimizing SQL queries in a relational database environment.
• Experience working with large-scale data processing and modern data platforms, including ETL or ELT pipeline development.
• Experience working with complex data models; experience with Property and Casualty insurance data such as claims, policy, or underwriting is required.
• Experience developing and maintaining ETL/ELT processes using tools such as SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, or similar technologies.
• Strong SQL development skills, including query optimization and database performance tuning.
• Experience with data modeling and schema design for analytical or operational data systems.
• Familiarity with source control systems such as GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms and storage solutions such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Databricks, Amazon S3, Azure Blob Storage), including working within enterprise data governance and security practices.
• Experience working in Agile development environments, including CI/CD practices.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
