About The Position

Stefanini Group is hiring a Data Engineer in Cuyahoga Falls, OH. This role involves analyzing and reverse-engineering existing legacy data flows, designing and building new data pipelines using SQL Server and ETL tools, and migrating and transforming data from legacy systems into modern structures. The Data Engineer will ensure data accuracy and integrity during migration, and partner with business and technical teams to understand data usage and dependencies. Stefanini is a global provider of outsourcing, IT digital consulting, systems integration, application, and strategic staffing services to Fortune 1000 enterprises worldwide, with a presence in numerous countries and serving over 400 clients across various markets. Stefanini is a CMM level 5 IT consulting company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering, data integration, or related roles.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, including complex query development, performance tuning, and large-scale data transformations.
  • Strong experience working with SQL Server environments, including database design, optimization, and administration concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with ETL tools such as SSIS, DTS, Informatica, or comparable platforms.
  • Proven experience working within and modernizing legacy data environments, including mainframe or highly customized systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, reverse-engineer, and document undocumented or poorly documented data flows.
  • Experience designing and implementing scalable data pipelines and migration strategies.
  • Strong understanding of data validation, reconciliation, and data quality best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership in ambiguous, complex environments with limited documentation.
  • Strong SQL skills (this is a must – including complex queries, performance tuning, and data transformation).
  • Experience working with SQL Server environments.
  • Hands-on experience with ETL tools (SSIS, DTS, Informatica, or similar).
  • Experience working in and modernizing legacy data environments.
  • Ability to work independently in environments with limited documentation.
