Data Engineer - Palantir Foundry - Must be government clearance eligible

NavaideArlington, VA
$100,000 - $175,000Hybrid

About The Position

Navaide is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to lead data engineering and analytics projects within the Palantir Foundry platform. The ideal candidate will be proficient in data architecture, processing, and solution development in Foundry’s native platform. This role involves close collaboration with various departments and key client stakeholders to design and implement data solutions that enhance operational efficiency and decision-making. If you are proactive, curious, and a skilled analytics technologist with a pragmatic approach to engineering challenges, this role may be perfect for you.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in data engineering, platform engineering, or analytics engineering
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining production-grade pipelines, data connections, and ontologies in Palantir Foundry (Pipeline Builder, Code Repositories, Ontology Manager, Data Lineage, Workshop)
  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL; comfort with TypeScript/JavaScript
  • Traditional data lakehouse experience (Databricks, Snowflake, dbt)
  • Familiarity with Foundry Data Connection architecture — setting up sources and syncs from external systems
  • Proven delivery in DoD or federal environments
  • Familiarity with Navy, DON, or DoD logistics, financial, or personnel data landscapes
  • Strong communication skills; able to work across technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Eligibility to obtain US Government Security Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Palantir Foundry Data Engineer or Application Developer certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines in Foundry’s Pipeline Builder and Code Repositories — from raw ingest through staging to curated, production-ready datasets.
  • Connect and sync external source systems into Foundry using Data Connection, unifying data across logistics, personnel, and financial domains.
  • Design and extend object types, properties, and links in Ontology Manager, reflecting real-world mission processes and back downstream workflows.
  • Enforce automation, version control, orchestration, and health monitoring via Data Lineage to keep data flows secure, repeatable, and auditable.
  • Define and enforce data architecture standards for distributed environments within Foundry and adjacent platforms.
  • Build scalable, rule-based methods in Foundry to assess accuracy, completeness, and timeliness — with feedback loops that drive remediation.
  • Leverage Data Lineage to trace dataset provenance, supporting discovery, traceability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Tune pipeline schedules, workloads, and resource allocation for cost-efficient, reliable performance.
  • Surface latency issues and pipeline failures against SLAs.
  • Work directly with analysts, product leads, and mission stakeholders to translate requirements into clean, well-documented data products.
  • Mentor junior engineers and establish Foundry engineering standards for naming, object design, testing, and change management.
