About The Position

Booz Allen is seeking a Data Engineer to architect, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines and platforms that transform complex data into actionable insights. In this role, you will lead a team of data engineers to design modern, cloud-native solutions integrating structured and unstructured data across secure environments. You will serve as a technical and strategic leader, responsible for building and maintaining enterprise data infrastructure that powers analytics, reporting, and mission-critical decision-making. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, you will set engineering standards, ensure data quality, and drive innovation, enabling the organization to leverage data as a secure and strategic asset at scale. This position blends technical expertise with leadership responsibilities to deliver high-quality, reliable, and secure data solutions across cloud and distributed systems. Requirements

  • Experience building and maintaining data pipelines
  • Experience with ETL development using NiFi, Python, or Java
  • Experience with SQL, PostgreSQL, or Kafka
  • Knowledge of AWS services, including S3, RDS, and Aurora
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science or Engineering field
  • Ability to obtain Security+ Certification within 6 months of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Kafka ecosystem tools such as Kafka Connect or Kafka Streams
  • Experience with NiFi for data flow automation
  • Experience with Geospatial Services and implementation of OGC web standards including WMS and WFS
  • Experience with Docker image creation and container lifecycle management
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD, or related orchestration tools
  • Experience monitoring tools2, such as Grafana, Prometheus, or Elasticsearch and Kibana
  • Experience with real-time data and streaming architectures
  • Experience implementing Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC) to restrict sensitive data visibility
