About The Position

New Pig is building out its data team and looking for an entry-level Data Engineer to help turn raw data into reliable, decision-ready systems. You'll work alongside analysts, software engineers, and business leaders across IT, Marketing, and Operations to design and maintain the data infrastructure that powers how we run the business. This is a hands-on role with real ownership from day one.

Requirements

Proficiency in SQL including queries, stored procedures, functions, and schema design
Experience with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL
Familiarity with public cloud data tooling — AWS (Redshift, DynamoDB) and/or GCP (BigQuery)
Experience designing and implementing relational database schemas with proper documentation
Familiarity with SQL Server, SSIS, and/or SSRS
Working knowledge of ETL concepts and data transformation and cleaning techniques across multiple source formats
Version control experience with Git
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team

Nice To Haves

Python, Java, or JavaScript experience is a plus

Responsibilities

Build and maintain SQL views, stored procedures, and ETL pipelines that deliver clean, analyst-ready data
Build and maintain high-performance database and data lake infrastructure
Partner with analysts and business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into durable solutions
Identify and implement improvements to report delivery performance and data pipeline efficiency
Create and maintain data cataloging, documentation, profiling, and lineage to ensure data discoverability
Document data models, schemas, and system behavior; develop and execute test cases
Support reporting and analysis functions that drive data-informed decisions across the organization
Contribute written and verbal summaries of findings to cross-functional audiences
