About The Position
We are seeking a Data Engineer to join our team in Jersey City, NJ. This role involves a hybrid work model with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote. The primary focus will be on migrating data from a legacy platform to a new platform within an AWS environment. This includes creating data pipelines and writing code in PySpark and Java.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Python/Spark/PySpark.
- Strong proficiency in SQL.
- Must be strong in AWS.
- Experience with data lakes.
- For Lead roles: Strong in both Java and PySpark (70% PySpark, 30% Java).
- For other resources: Strong in Python/Spark/PySpark.
Nice To Haves
- Databricks experience (candidates must be able to speak to it if listed on resume).
Responsibilities
- Create data pipelines.
- Write code in PySpark and Java for data migration.
- Migrate data from a legacy platform to a new platform.
- Work within an AWS environment for migration.
- Utilize strong SQL skills for data manipulation and analysis.
