About The Position

The Data Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data solutions that support reporting, analytics, and business decision-making across the organization. This role focuses on developing and optimizing database objects, building reliable ETL pipelines, and delivering high-quality reports and dashboards. Working in a Microsoft-based data environment, the Data Engineer partners closely with business and technical stakeholders to ensure data accuracy, performance, and usability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of experience working as a Data Engineer or in a similar data-focused role.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including performance tuning and query optimization.
  • Hands-on experience building ETL solutions using Azure Data Factory (ADF).
  • Experience designing and supporting Data Warehouse solutions.
  • Proficiency with SSRS and Power BI for reporting and dashboard development.
  • Experience with Azure Analysis Services (AAS) or similar semantic modeling tools.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based and on-premise Microsoft data technologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design, create, and maintain SQL Server database objects, including tables, views, stored procedures, and functions.
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF) to ingest, transform, and load data from multiple sources into the data warehouse.
  • Build and maintain a centralized Data Warehouse to support analytics, reporting, and downstream data consumption.
  • Develop and support SSRS reports and Power BI dashboards, ensuring data is accurate, timely, and presented in a clear, business-friendly manner.
  • Implement and manage Azure Analysis Services (AAS) models to support semantic layers and enterprise reporting.
  • Analyze and optimize SQL queries and data models to improve performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Perform data quality assessments and proactively identify data integrity issues.
  • Collaborate with business users, analysts, and leadership to understand reporting and data requirements.
  • Establish and support data tools and reporting solutions for department and unit managers.
  • Document data pipelines, data models, and reporting solutions following best practices.
  • Stay current with Microsoft data platform features and recommend improvements to existing solutions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
