About The Position

We are seeking a Data Engineer with extensive experience in Big Data platforms, SQL, and high-level programming languages. The role involves working on critical projects related to security, governance, and feature innovation within our data infrastructure. You will be responsible for designing, developing, validating, and deploying features, as well as fixing bugs and troubleshooting issues. This position requires strong debugging, monitoring, and engineering lifecycle skills, with a focus on following established engineering practices and deployment rules. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in high-reliability data engineering environments and the ability to work independently under heavy execution demands.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years Big Data Platform Experience — Cosmos (MapReducer), Azure data stack (HDI, ADLS Gen2), Spark/Scala.
  • Minimum 5 years SQL queries plus experience in C#, Scala, Java, or Python.
  • Minimum 5 years Strong debugging, monitoring, and engineering lifecycle skills.
  • Distributed system design & implementation, BIG DATA platforms knowledge, CI/CD processes, debugging & troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in high reliability data engineering environments.
  • Ability to work independently with heavy execution demands.
  • Foundational high level language + SQL exposure.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Microsoft experience (S360, security expectations, internal processes).

Responsibilities

  • Feature design, development, validation, CI/CD, bug fixes, troubleshooting & debugging issues.
  • Follow engineering practice and deployment rules.
  • Security work: fixing code security issues, updating identities/secrets, ensuring secure endpoints.
  • Governance: data partitioning, physical access restrictions, compliance related updates.
  • Feature innovation and continuous platform enhancements.
  • Maintaining and improving pipelines across Cosmos (MapReducer) and Azure data platforms (HDI, ADLS Gen2, Spark).
  • Writing, modifying, and debugging code and services.
  • CICD, monitoring, and standard engineering lifecycle practices.
  • Heads down execution work, following a task list and completing high priority deliverables quickly.
  • Collaborating with FTEs who will help onboard and accelerate ramp up.
  • Using SAW device access for AME domain work (pre prod/prod as allowed).
