About The Position

Peraton seeks a Data Engineer to support Department of Defense Cyber Defense Command (DCDC) with defensive cyberspace operations and AI/ML security support. Location: Fort Meade, MD. In this role, you will design and implement data infrastructure, pipelines, and integration solutions to support DCDC analytic capabilities within Caspian and JCRS-D environments. You will operate as part of the Analytic Development Team.

Requirements

Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD
Proficiency in Python, SQL, Scala
Experience with Spark, Kafka, and Hadoop ecosystem
Knowledge of data modeling and warehousing
Understanding of streaming architectures
Experience with cloud data services
U.S Citizenship required
DoD TS with ability to obtain/maintain SCI clearance

Nice To Haves

Cloud platform certifications preferred
5-8 years of specific experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field
Extensive experience with React 18/19 best practices to refactor legacy React 16 code.
Strong foundational skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
Strong understanding of common web vulnerabilities (XSS, Injection, DoS, ReDoS, Clickjacking) to ensure security compliance during refactoring
Experience using Flux CD and Kubernetes to deploy applications, and using GitLab for security pipelines
Experience with Node.js and Express
Experience with MarkLogic, specifically utilizing xQuery to search, query, and manage database data
