About The Position

The Delphi Group within MLD is seeking a versatile Data Engineer proficient in SQL, Python, and Apache Airflow to design, maintain, and optimize robust data pipelines. The ideal candidate blends technical breadth, with additional exposure to tools like Postgres, MySQL, Django, or data visualization, with strong leadership and mentorship abilities. Beyond hands-on engineering, this role requires an adaptable collaborator who can lead small projects, translate complex requirements from a multidisciplinary team of epidemiologists, statisticians, and researchers, and seamlessly bridge the gap between academic research and innovative software solutions.

Requirements

Proficient in SQL, Python, and Apache Airflow
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field required.
Minimum 3-5 years of system programming and/or system administration experience required.
Strong communication, organization, planning, and teamwork skills necessary.
Successful completion of a pre-employment background check

Responsibilities

Support, participate in, and lead technical projects.
May guide or train lower-level staff.

Develops specifications based on user and system requirements.
