About The Position

Branch is hiring a Data Engineer for its Data Engineering team. The team is responsible for data that supports critical processes, including money movement, automated fraud response, and client reporting. The Data Engineer will collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to build and maintain data pipelines, integrate APIs, and develop reusable components such as hooks, utilities, and internal libraries. The role is suited to someone with several years of data engineering experience who is ready to grow into greater end-to-end ownership. The team values clarity, maintainability, and attention to detail.

Requirements

At least 3 years of Data Engineering experience.
At least 3 years of Airflow experience.
Proficiency in Python and SQL.
Working knowledge of Snowflake, Airflow, DBT, and GCP.
A BS in Computer Science or a related field.

Nice To Haves

Experience in fintech, payments, or a related industry.
Experience managing Airflow.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain data pipelines used by internal teams and customers.
Integrate with internal and external APIs to send and receive data.
Orchestrate and automate workflows using Airflow on Kubernetes.
Implement unit tests, monitoring, and alerting to ensure data reliability.
Improve the observability and efficiency of existing pipelines.
Monitor production pipelines, debug issues, and document root causes.
Work with stakeholders to clarify requirements and validate assumptions.
Contribute to design discussions and identify functional gaps early.
Build underlying components, including hooks, utilities, and internal libraries, for future pipelines.
