About The Position

We are seeking a Data Engineer for a long-term contract position in Houston, TX. This role involves assisting in the design and development of scalable data pipelines, working with various data sources, and supporting ETL processes. The Data Engineer will collaborate with data analysts and scientists to ensure data quality and availability, while also maintaining and monitoring data workflows for reliability and performance. Documentation and adherence to data governance policies are also key aspects of this role.

Requirements

• Basic proficiency in SQL and understanding of relational databases
• Exposure to Python, Java, or Scala for data manipulation
• Familiarity with big data tools (Hadoop, Spark) or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Understanding of ETL concepts and data modeling basics
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
