About The Position

Ericsson Enterprise Wireless Solutions is seeking a skilled Snowflake Data Engineer to support the development of modern analytics solutions within our data platform. This contractor role will focus on the Analytics Development Lifecycle, primarily using dbt Cloud for ELT processes in a modern data stack. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in SQL, modular data modeling, and data transformation best practices, with a proven ability to design and implement scalable solutions in Snowflake. As the role advances, additional focus will move to developing data pipelines from extraction and loading to transformation.

Requirements

  • Advanced SQL skills with hands-on Snowflake experience.
  • Strong experience with dbt Cloud/Core and modular data modeling.
  • Proficiency in Python for data manipulation and integration tasks.
  • Familiarity with APIs, SFTP, and semi-structured data formats (JSON, XML).
  • Experience with Git-based source control and collaborative development workflows.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing principles, including slowly changing dimensions and bridge tables.
  • Exposure to cloud environments (AWS or Azure).
  • Strong communication and documentation skills; ability to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with BI tools and visualization concepts.
  • Familiarity with SaaS-based data platforms.
  • Knowledge of Pandas or similar Python libraries for data wrangling.

Responsibilities

  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications for analytics solutions.
  • Design, build, and maintain data models, transformations, and pipelines using dbt Cloud and Snowflake.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries for performance and scalability.
  • Implement ELT workflows leveraging version control (Git) and software development best practices.
  • Participate in all phases of the Analytics Development Lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Create and maintain documentation for functional requirements and technical specifications.
  • Perform unit testing, peer code reviews, and ensure adherence to coding standards.
  • Support code promotion and environment synchronization activities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate business logic into data models and reporting solutions.
  • Develop custom Python scripts for data extraction and transformation from APIs, SFTP, and semi-structured sources.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of data warehousing concepts (Star Schema, Facts & Dimensions, OLAP design).
  • Ensure compliance with Agile methodologies and participate in sprint planning and reviews.
