About The Position

As a data engineer at Booz Allen, you’ll use your skills and experience to help build advanced technology solutions and implement data engineering activities on some of the most mission-driven projects in the industry. You’ll develop and deploy the pipelines and platforms that organize and make disparate data meaningful. Here, you’ll work with a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers in a fast-paced, agile environment. You’ll sharpen your skills in analytical exploration and data examination while you support the assessment, design, developing, and maintenance of scalable platforms for your clients.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience utilizing programming languages, including C++, Java, or Python
  • 2+ years of experience developing and maintaining scalable data stores that supply big data in forms needed for business analysis
  • 1+ years of experience with source control and collaboration software, including Git or Atlassian tools
  • Experience with developing scalable ETL and ELT workflows for reporting and analytics
  • Knowledge of relational and non-relational database technologies, including SQL or GraphQL
  • Ability to work in a controlled facility, such as a SIPR space
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree

Nice To Haves

  • Experience deploying analytics workloads on a platform as a service (PaaS) and software as a service (SaaS), including AWS EMR, Redshift, SageMaker, Databricks, SQL Data Warehouse, or Machine Learning service
  • Experience with distributed or parallel programming frameworks, including Apache Spark or NVIDIA CUDA
  • Experience with infrastructure as code frameworks and services, including Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Experience developing and presenting complex technical information for technical and non-technical audiences and senior leaders
  • Experience developing and deploying large-scale batch and stream analytics pipelines
  • Experience working with integrated groups comprised of customer success managers, infrastructure engineers, data scientists, and software engineers
  • Experience with DoD information systems
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Physics
  • Cloud Development Certification, including AWS Solutions Architect or Azure Certification, or Information Security Certification, including Security+ or CISSP Certification
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
