Data Engineer
About The Position
Design and build ETL pipelines for AFIMSC data platforms. Integrate data sources into cloud-based environments (Advana, VAULT, BLADE). Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance across systems. Support migration of civil engineering data platforms to cloud infrastructure. Develop automated workflows for data ingestion and transformation. Collaborate with data scientists to enable AI/ML model deployment. Optimize database performance and implement indexing strategies. Maintain secure data transfer protocols and compliance standards. Document data architecture and integration processes. Provide technical support for data-related issues and enhancements.
Requirements
- An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED "SECRET" Federal or DoD security clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field.
- FOUR (4) or more years of experience in data engineering and ETL development.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data pipeline tools (Databricks, Airflow).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Nice To Haves
- Master’s degree in Data Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience with big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop).
- Knowledge of data warehousing and governance principles.
- Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with API integration and data connectors.
- Ability to troubleshoot and optimize data workflows.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Knowledge of DevSecOps and CI/CD for data pipelines.
- Experience with advanced analytics platforms (Advana, VAULT).
- Familiarity with geospatial data integration.
- Certifications in cloud technologies (AWS, Azure).
- Experience with robotic process automation tools.
- Understanding of cybersecurity requirements for data systems.
- Knowledge of Air Force or DoD data environments.
- Experience in agile development methodologies.
