About The Position

NS2 Mission seeking a Data Engineer to join a growing, collaborative team in Chantilly, VA, focused on building and maintaining scalable data pipelines in a cloud-based environment. This role is best suited for someone with a strong foundation in Python and ETL development who is looking to expand their experience with modern cloud and infrastructure tools.
Requirements
- 4–8 years of experience in data engineering or related field (Full Performance level)
- Strong hands-on experience with the ETL lifecycle (design, development, and maintenance)
- Proficiency in Python for data processing and pipeline development
- Experience working in cloud environments (AWS preferred: EC2, Lambda, EKS, etc.)
- Experience working in Agile development environments
- TS/SCI with an FSP
- Ability to obtain or maintain a U.S security clearance which requires U.S citizenship
Nice To Haves
- Exposure to workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and improve data quality
- A strong Python/ETL-focused engineer who can contribute quickly to data pipeline development
- Someone comfortable working as part of a collaborative, multi-person team
- A candidate who is eager to grow into cloud, containerization, and infrastructure tooling over time
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines and data workflows
- Write clean, production-quality Python code to support data processing and transformation
- Support data ingestion, transformation, and validation to ensure high data quality
- Work within AWS-based environments to support scalable data solutions
- Collaborate with team members across engineering and product in an Agile setting
- Troubleshoot data issues and improve pipeline performance and reliability
