About The Position

As a data engineer at Booz Allen, you’ll use your expertise to help build advanced technology solutions and lead data engineering activities on some of the most mission-driven projects in the industry. You’ll guide data engineering activities by overseeing the development and deployment of pipelines and platforms that organize and make disparate data meaningful. Here, you’ll mentor a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers in a fast-paced, agile environment. You’ll use your expertise in analytical exploration and data examination while you oversee the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable platforms for your clients. Requirements

5+ years of experience in application development, data engineering, or data science
5+ years of experience designing, developing, operationalizing, and maintaining complex data applications at enterprise scale
3+ years of experience creating software for retrieving, parsing, and processing structured and unstructured data using tools or languages such as Python, SQL, or TypeScript
3+ years of experience with building scalable ETL and ELT workflows for reporting and analytics
Experience creating solutions within a collaborative and cross-functional team environment
TS/SCI clearance
Bachelor’s degree

Nice To Haves

Experience with Full-stack application development
Experience with Palantir tools, such as Foundry
Experience with Department of War datasets and data standards
Experience with distributed data or computing tools, including Spark, Databricks, or pipeline data science tools, such as Alteryx
Experience working on real-time data and streaming applications
Experience with data warehousing using AWS RDS, PostgreSQL, or Snowflake
Experience with Agile engineering practices

Responsibilities

Oversee the development and deployment of pipelines and platforms that organize and make disparate data meaningful.

Oversee the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable platforms for clients.
Develop scripts and programs for converting various types of data into usable formats.
Support project teams to scale, monitor, and operate data platforms.
