About The Position

As a data engineer at Booz Allen, you’ll use your expertise to help build advanced technology solutions and lead data engineering activities on some of the most mission-driven projects in the industry. You’ll guide data engineering activities by overseeing the development and deployment of pipelines and platforms that organize and make disparate data meaningful. Here, you’ll mentor a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers in a fast-paced, agile environment. You’ll use your expertise in analytical exploration and data examination while you oversee the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable platforms for your clients. Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience leading software application development in an enterprise environment
  • 7+ years of experience designing, developing, operationalizing, and maintaining complex, distributed data applications at scale
  • 5+ years of experience retrieving, parsing, and processing structured and unstructured data
  • 5+ years of experience developing scalable ETL pipelines or workflows for analytics or reporting
  • Experience establishing, documenting, and maintaining clear development priorities and execution plans, ensuring teams understand sequencing, dependencies, critical-path activities, trade-offs, and changes in priorities across multiple concurrent initiatives
  • Ability to supervise technical staff, such as technical leads, engineers, and testers, and lead projects in a collaborative, cross-functional environment, including assessing the critical path, aligning team capacity to priorities, and pivoting resources as delivery needs evolve
  • Ability to translate and brief technical information, priorities, risks, dependencies, and critical-path impacts to larger client, executive, and stakeholder audiences
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Ability to obtain Security+ CE, SSCP, CCNA-Security, or GSEC Certification within 6 months of hire

Nice To Haves

  • 10+ years of experience using Python or Java
  • 5+ years of experience with AWS services and cloud-native architectures
  • 5+ years of experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, container orchestration, and CI/CD workflows
  • 5+ years of experience with Apache NiFi and Kafka for real-time data ingestion and streaming
  • 5+ years of experience with working on real-time data and streaming applications
  • 5+ years of experience with Linux or UNIX, including shell scripting and operational troubleshooting
  • Experience developing applications and administering non-relational databases, such as MongoDB
  • Experience improving or establishing enterprise-level CM pipelines, version control discipline, and release management hygiene
  • Possession of strong communication skills
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Developer, or SysOps Associate Certification
