About The Position

Enterprise Fleet Management (EFM), an affiliate of Enterprise Mobility, is seeking a Data Engineer Intern for its Information Technology (IT) department. The IT department develops and implements powerful solutions to support business operations across the US and Canada. Interns will join a team creating and delivering leading-edge technologies and expansive systems impacting the business. This role offers the advantages of a smaller organization, providing opportunities to shape progressive architecture and build broad IT experience. The position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, allowing remote work with occasional in-person requirements at the St. Louis Corporate HQ campus locations.

Requirements

  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
  • Must reside in the St. Louis area for the duration of the 10-week program with the ability to come onsite weekly as needed
  • Must be a current student pursuing a degree in computer science or a related information technology field with a 3.0 GPA or higher and a graduation date of either December 2027 or May 2028 OR must have successfully completed a certification from a formal technical bootcamp prior to May 2027
  • Must have prior experience or applied knowledge with data engineering
  • Must have experience with SQL or database skills
  • Experience with relational or analytical database concepts
  • Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities
  • Demonstrable analytical and troubleshooting skills; ability to think outside the box
  • Ability to identify and creatively resolve problems
  • Ability to translate technical information into easy to consume communications
  • Excellent customer service and relationship management skills

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with a mentor while finding solutions to real world problems
  • Build a lasting professional network through social events and engaging activities
  • Interact directly with our company leaders to learn about our IT strategy and initiatives
  • Assist with development of Matillion pipelines and ETL/ELT processes
  • Assist with development of Python file management flows
  • Assist with development of Snowflake database objects
  • Assist with documenting the business need and reviewing with the IT team members
  • Adhere to security and privacy policies
  • Seek to improve job performance through self-assessment, skill development, training and goal setting
  • Participate in acceptance testing and code reviews to ensure client/user needs are met, as needed
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
