About The Position

The JM Family College Internship Program provides college students with meaningful work experiences connected to their programs of study. Interns contribute to team success, learn about JM Family’s companies and culture, and develop skills through learning opportunities and networking events.

As a Data Engineering Intern, you will support data initiatives focused on improving and modernizing the team’s data environment. The role offers exposure to data engineering and analytics, applying technical coursework to real-world business needs and contributing to data warehouse modernization. The ideal candidate will be available to work full-time during the Summer Internship Program from May 24, 2027, through July 30, 2027. Work arrangements may be flexible depending on business needs and are subject to performance, business need, and manager discretion.

Requirements

• Be actively enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s, or other degree-seeking program at an accredited college or university, with at least one semester of coursework completed.
• Pursue a degree in Information Technology or a related field; candidates in related fields will also be considered.
• Have completed relevant coursework in SQL, data management, software, or related technical areas.
• Have foundational knowledge of SQL concepts and an interest in applying technical skills to data engineering and analytics initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify SQL queries to support data engineering and analytics needs.
• Develop data models to organize and structure data for business use.
• Translate business and data requirements into SQL code and related data solutions.
• Research and analyze data to support business needs and identify meaningful insights.
• Participate in data remediation efforts supporting modernization of the team’s data warehouse.
