About The Position

The Data Engineer III will identify options to address business problems through analytics, big data analytics, and automation. This role supports the development of business cases, owns project delivery, and supports process updates. The Data Engineer III will solve business issues, support data governance processes and practices, and understand and apply strategic principles to routine business problems. Key responsibilities include extracting data from databases, creating data pipelines, transforming data, and developing knowledge of current data science and analytics trends. The role also involves understanding requirement priorities and service level agreements, identifying suitable data sources, performing data quality checks, and analyzing complex data elements to contribute to data models. The Data Engineer III will develop Logical and Physical Data Models, define relational tables, evaluate existing data models, develop efficient data flows, and analyze data-related system integration challenges. Additionally, this role will create training documentation, train end-users, oversee less experienced programmers, write code for solutions and application features, create and test code, deploy software, and contribute code documentation. The Data Engineer III will demonstrate expertise, provide expert advice, align efforts with business needs, and build commitment for perspectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, or a related field plus 2 years of experience in software engineering or related experience; OR Master’s degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Conducting performance tuning and optimization of data processing systems for improved efficiency and scalability
  • Working closely with data scientists and analysts to provide them with the necessary data sets and tools for analysis and reporting
  • Building Data pipeline in Bigdata and Hadoop along with the testcase integration
  • Monitoring and testing data pipelines to ensure data availability and reliability in lower and higher environments
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and design data solutions that meet business needs
  • Designing the data models and data architecture for efficient data processing and storage.

  • Analyzes complex data elements, systems, data flows, dependencies, and relationships to contribute to conceptual, physical, and logical data models.
  • Develops the Logical Data Model and Physical Data Models including data warehouse and data mart designs.
  • Defines relational tables, primary and foreign keys, and stored procedures to create a data model structure.
  • Evaluates existing data models and physical databases for variances and discrepancies.
  • Develops efficient data flows.
  • Analyzes data-related system integration challenges and proposes appropriate solutions.
  • Creates training documentation and trains end-users on data modeling.
  • Oversees the tasks of less experienced programmers and stipulates system troubleshooting supports.
  • Writes code to develop the required solution and application features by determining the appropriate programming language and leveraging business, technical, and data requirements.
  • Creates test cases to review and validate the proposed solution design.
  • Creates proofs of concept.
  • Tests the code using the appropriate testing approach.
  • Deploys software to production servers.
  • Contributes code documentation, maintains playbooks, and provides timely progress updates.
  • Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales.
