AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, ensuring customers have continuous access to the innovation they rely on. The Science, Services, Infrastructure, and Innovation (S2I2) Engineering team is building measurement, intelligence, and decision-support systems that embed sustainability into how AWS designs, procures, and operates its infrastructure. This role will focus on data products that power sustainability decisions across AWS, including life-cycle assessments, material flow analysis, carbon allocation models, and service-level sustainability profiles. The team is dedicated to enabling AWS to measure, reduce, and eliminate its environmental footprint across carbon, materials, and water, while also helping AWS customers meet their own sustainability commitments. Amazon has committed to achieving net-zero carbon by 2040 and has become the world's largest corporate purchaser of renewable energy, with a focus extending to carbon-free energy sources, embodied carbon reduction, circular economy, and water stewardship.
