About The Position

As a Data Engineer II at Chewy, Inc., you will own the design, development, and maintenance of end-to-end data pipelines. You will tackle complex data issues to provide insights needed to accomplish business goals and develop data products for analytics and data scientists to boost their efficiency. You will also assist in crafting Proof of Concepts and advise, consult, mentor, and coach other data and analytic professionals on data standards and practices. Additionally, you will lead the evaluation, implementation, and deployment of emerging tools and processes for analytic data engineering to improve team efficiency. You will develop and deliver communication and education plans on analytic data engineering capabilities, standards, and processes. You will code, test, and detail new or modified data systems to build robust and scalable applications for data analytics, and actively contribute to team discussions and initiatives, valuing diverse perspectives and encouraging a cooperative work atmosphere. You will be responsible for data cataloging & documentation of data sources. You will meet with business partners and analytics teams to understand and solve data needs, short-term and medium-term, and build trust with internal collaborators to encourage data-driven decision-making. You will partner with data engineering to grow the value of our data products by onboarding new data from our backend and 3rd party systems. Telecommuting is permitted up to 2 days per week.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, and 5 years of experience as a Data Warehousing Specialists or a related position/occupation.
  • Masters degree in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, and 3 years of experience as a Data Warehousing Specialists or a related position/occupation.
  • 3 years with Python
  • 3 years with Airflow
  • 3 years with AWS Services (SQS, SNS, S3, EC2, Glue, Glue catalog)
  • 3 years with Distributed processing
  • 3 years with Data modeling
  • Experience with Snowflake
  • Experience with CI/CD

Responsibilities
