About The Position
This role involves designing, developing, implementing, testing, documenting, and operating large-scale, high-volume, high-performance data structures for business intelligence analytics. The position requires implementing data structures using best practices in data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, SQL, Oracle, and OLAP technologies. Responsibilities include providing on-line reporting and analysis using OBIEE business intelligence tools and a logical abstraction layer against large, multi-dimensional datasets and multiple sources. The role also entails gathering business and functional requirements, translating them into robust, scalable, and operable solutions within the overall data architecture, and analyzing source data systems to drive best practices in source teams. The Data Engineer II will participate in the full development life cycle, from design to maintenance, produce comprehensive dataset documentation and metadata, and evaluate dataset implementations proposed by peer data engineers. Additionally, the role involves evaluating and making decisions on the use of new or existing software products and tools, and mentoring junior data engineers.
Requirements
- Master's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field and one year of experience in the job offered, or as an Operations Research Analyst, Database Developer, or a related occupation.
- Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field and five years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
- One year of experience in developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using each of the following: ETL/ELT processes, OLAP technologies, data modeling, SQL, and Oracle.

Responsibilities

- Evaluate and make decisions around dataset implementations designed and proposed by peer data engineers.
- Evaluate and make decisions around the use of new or existing software products and tools.
- Mentor junior data engineers.
