About The Position

Purpose of the role To build and maintain the systems that collect, store, process, and analyse data, such as data pipelines, data warehouses and data lakes to ensure that all data is accurate, accessible, and secure. Accountabilities Build and maintenance of data architectures pipelines that enable the transfer and processing of durable, complete and consistent data. Design and implementation of data warehoused and data lakes that manage the appropriate data volumes and velocity and adhere to the required security measures. Development of processing and analysis algorithms fit for the intended data complexity and volumes. Collaboration with data scientist to build and deploy machine learning models. Requirements

  • Considerable hand-on experience working with large scale data platforms, delivering cloud-based data solutions with measurable business impact
  • Solid understanding of distributed computing and data architecture paradigms, with practical experience on AWS data platforms, including Glue, Lambda, S3, Redshift, Athena, and Databricks.
  • Experience designing and building batch data ingestion and transformation pipelines for large datasets
  • Ample understanding of IAM roles, cloud security, and AWS infrastructure, including secure data access patterns
  • Programming ability in Python and PySpark, along with advanced SQL skills, including query tuning and performance optimization

Nice To Haves

  • Validated capability in data modelling and schema design, supporting analytics, reporting, and downstream consumption
  • Experience working with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and GitLab, embedding quality and automation into delivery
  • Sound knowledge of data governance standards, metadata oversight, and data quality frameworks, like Alation, Glue Data Quality, data mesh concepts
  • Comfortable working in Agile delivery environments, using project coordination tools and collaborating across engineering and business teams
  • Ability to propose and influence solution level architecture for diverse technology and business use cases
