About The Position

Across our 30 communities in Canada, we live, work, and learn together. The Data & Documentation Assistant supports L’Arche Canada by organizing, digitizing, and entering documents and information. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who enjoys administrative work, accuracy, and helping strengthen organizational systems. The position plays a key role in improving digital record-keeping, compliance, and accessibility across the organization.

Requirements

  • Candidates must be 15–30 years old at the start of employment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Comfortable using computers, scanners, and digital file management tools.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to follow structured processes.
  • Willingness to learn and work with the AlayaCare system (training provided).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with administrative work or data entry.
  • Familiarity with digital documentation or electronic record systems.
  • Interest in nonprofit, disability support, or community living.
  • Alignment with L’Arche’s values of inclusion, dignity, and respect.
  • Bilingual (English/French).

Responsibilities

  • Sorting, organizing, and reviewing documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Updating links embedded in documents.
  • Upload and categorize documents within the system based on organizational standards.
  • Verify uploaded data for clarity, accuracy, and alignment with required formats.
  • Flag missing, inconsistent, or unclear information for follow-up.
  • Organize electronic files to meet L’Arche’s document retention and privacy protocols.
  • Other duties as requested.
  • Support the People, Culture and Training Team with day-to-day tasks related to curriculum development, document management.
  • Communicate with team members about needs, updates, or outstanding items.
  • Participate in meetings with members of the People, Culture and Training Team to review outstanding tasks and identify next steps.
