As a Data Developer, you will be responsible for the development of new, and the maintenance of existing, data processes that lie at the heart of our organization. You will be joining Geologic's Data Services team whose remit is to provide our clients with the highest quality energy data in the industry. Reporting to the Data Services Manager, this role advances Geologic's data coverage, quality and data. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented self-starter, knowledgeable about data processes and technologies. Experience with Geologic's energy data and industry software tools would be a significant benefit.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary in Computer Science and/or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of experience in ETL process and data design
  • Proficient in python, C# and SQL, with an emphasis on data acquisition and transformation
  • Superior problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Passion to learn new technologies and new data
  • Self-starter, strong inter-personal skills, and a desire to collaborate
  • Proven time management skills
  • The ability to work under pressure to resolve live issues with systems in production

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Elastic Search
  • Knowledge of Canadian Oil and Gas data
  • Experience working with the PPDM data model; PPDM CPDA certification is advantageous

Responsibilities

  • Assist Sr. Data Developers with the development of critical projects, both in terms of operational and product roadmap requirements
  • Work with new and existing data to analyze, model and explain the meaning of data to other members and departments
  • Support ETL processes within distributed Oracle, SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments
  • Troubleshoot operational issues
  • Collaborate with team members to provide data solutions which align with our customers’ needs
  • Work closely with our Product Development team to ensure our software offerings receive the data they need in appropriate formats
