About The Position

Essential Job Functions Post daily charges to accounts via computer as assigned. Verifies that the scheduled service matches the charge posted. Enters cancellations, failures, and no shows when completing end-of-day procedures. Prompts staff to complete necessary paperwork in a timely manner. Performs daily Charge reconciliation. Maintains Charge Reconciliation Tracking Log. Investigate any errors. Verifies that correct diagnosis, CPT, HCPC and provider are entered on each account. Updates diagnosis codes when indicated by clinician. Coordinates Managed Care Authorization when requested by Behavioral Health Management. Educates staff regarding any changes in authorization process. Serves as a liaison between various hospitals departments. Verifies that new procedures run accurately across all departments involved. Consistently monitors current insurance guidelines. Trains department staff when indicated. Meets with other departments as needed to coordinate new/revised procedures. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • Two years of experience in a healthcare role or one year in a medical/billing/fiscal setting is preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and effective problem-solving skills are necessary.
  • Prior working experience on personal computers, electronic calculators and office equipment is needed.
  • This position requires organizational and time management skills.
  • The position requires the ability to maintain confidentiality with regard to all assignments.
  • Act 34-PA Criminal Record Check from the PA State Police system

Nice To Haves
