About The Position

The Audit Technologies Group, part of KPMG's national audit center and audit support team, is tasked with implementing new technologies in the audit practice and providing digital and data & analytics services to clients. The group operates as a multi-disciplinary team, offering and supporting KPMG proprietary and third-party data & analytics solutions. Data consultants will work within the CDST to assist client-facing teams with data extraction, transformation, and load capabilities into various audit tools. They will also provide critical support in data analysis, reporting, and data visualization, enabling the delivery of innovative solutions to clients. This position requires written and oral fluency in English, and the successful candidate may need to support or collaborate with English-speaking colleagues or stakeholders. The role may involve creating, interpreting, and applying policies, practices, laws, and regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Diploma in Computer Science, Database Management, Data Programming, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Data Analytics, or other IT-related degree.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong database proficiency (e.g., SQL, My SQL, Oracle etc.) and knowledge of SQL code scripting, including creation/implementation of API’s and debugging ability.
  • Knowledge of data analytics, visualization, scripting, and automation tools including Alteryx, PowerBI, Azure Databricks, Python, Microsoft VBA, PowerQuery, PowerApps, and PowerAutomate.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) - ability to work with multiple stakeholders and communicate priorities/manage expectations.
  • Proven time management and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable managing diverse responsibilities from day-to-day administrative and operational work to project and deadline-driven tasks.
  • Resourceful and creative problem-solving skills - proactive and brings new ideas and ways of working forward.
  • Ability to clearly articulate, identify and define problems and develop creative and practical solutions to address different and unique client requirements.
  • Able to employ sound professional judgment and professional skepticism; flexible and adaptable team player; leadership experience; resourceful in delivering high-quality, detail-oriented deliverables; ability to demonstrate sound organization and project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work with audit engagement teams to support the use of Data and Analytics (D&A) in the performance of external audits, including data acquisition, movement, and transformation, utilizing technologies such as Alteryx, SQL, Databricks, Power BI, and Microsoft PowerApps & PowerAutomate.
  • Communicate the technical implications of D&A projects to audit engagement teams, identifying issues and challenges, and providing recommendations, opportunities, and mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with audit engagement teams to scope D&A projects, review analytic results, and deliver innovative solutions that enhance audit planning and execution.
  • Work with client technology teams to understand ERP environments and data architecture, assess the technical implications of data acquisition and analysis, and deliver clear, well-structured audit documentation across the D&A lifecycle, while building long-term client relationships through high-quality engagement delivery and professional networking.
  • Participate in business development by identifying new opportunities and assisting with proposal development for a high-quality technology and data-enabled audit.
