About The Position

Mainframe Solutions is placing a Superintendent for an active civil contractor executing sitework and underground utility packages on data center construction projects in Austin. This is a field leadership role with direct responsibility for site execution, crew and subcontractor oversight, schedule adherence, and quality on mission-critical civil scopes. We are looking for a Superintendent who has the experience to match that pace, can lead a field operation with precision, and knows how to get complex underground utility work done right the first time. Project scope includes data center sitework, underground utilities, site grading & earthwork, storm & sanitary systems, wet utilities, and site infrastructure.

Requirements

  • 5 or more years of superintendent level experience in civil construction with a focus on sitework or underground utilities
  • Proven ability to lead field crews and subcontractors on complex civil scopes in fast-paced environments
  • Strong working knowledge of site grading, wet utilities, storm and sanitary systems, and trench safety
  • Experience managing field operations on large-scale or time-sensitive construction projects
  • Ability to read and interpret civil drawings and specifications independently in the field
  • OSHA 30 certified or willing to obtain within 90 days of hire

  • Direct field experience on data center, hyperscale, or mission-critical construction projects
  • Familiarity with Austin market site conditions, permitting inspections, and local utility requirements
  • Experience with high-density utility coordination and tight-tolerance underground installations
  • Background managing field operations on projects with multiple concurrent subcontract scopes

Responsibilities

  • Lead all field operations for data center sitework and underground utility scopes from mobilization through final inspection
  • Direct crews and subcontractors on site, managing daily scheduling, task assignment, and field accountability
  • Enforce OSHA safety standards, site-specific safety plans, and all project safety protocols without exception
  • Coordinate with the project manager, engineers, and GC on sequencing, submittals, and field execution requirements
  • Monitor production against schedule daily, identify delays, and take corrective action to protect project milestones
  • Ensure all underground utility installations meet design specifications, testing requirements, and quality standards
  • Manage material deliveries, equipment utilization, and subcontractor coordination on site
  • Maintain accurate daily field logs, inspection records, and progress documentation
