About The Position

A large Data Center in Burlington, TX is hiring multiple Data Center Technicians to join the team for a great long term opportunity! This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waco, TX. This is a fully onsite position in Waco, TX.

Requirements

1-3+ years of prior IT related experience with previous Data Center/Cabling experience.
Knowledge of structured cabling standards and fiber optic technologies.
Familiarity with environmental systems such as HVAC, electrical backup systems, and fire suppression systems.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

Low voltage experience is a big plus but not required.
Prefer cabling experience (coax, fiber, cat5, cat6, punch downs, etc.) but not required.

Responsibilities

Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic and structured cabling systems (single-mode and multi-mode fiber) within data center environments, including rack-and-stack deployments, cable pathways, ladder racks, and fiber tray systems.
Read and interpret blueprints, cable schedules, and network diagrams while ensuring installations meet project timelines, quality standards, and client specifications.
Utilize industry-standard testing equipment such as OTDRs, power meters, and VFLs to validate network performance, maintain accurate labeling, cable management, and document all installation and testing activities.
Communicate project progress, issues, and status updates to project teams, while maintaining daily reports, test results, as-built documentation, and project closeout records.
Follow OSHA and site-specific safety requirements by identifying potential hazards, utilizing proper PPE, and maintaining safe work practices at all times.
