About The Position

Fluidstack is seeking a Data Center Technician to join their Data Center Operations Team. This role is crucial in building and operating civilization-scale infrastructure for AI. The team operates at the scale of a nation, managing a fleet that will draw more power than some countries, with the goal of reaching 100 GW. The technician will work in a dynamic environment where sites come online in pieces, requiring them to keep live sites running flawlessly while construction continues. This role involves writing new operational playbooks rather than inheriting existing ones, as no prior operations organization has operated at this speed and scale.

Requirements

Racked and cabled servers or network gear in a production data center, and the work passed QA the first time.
Ability to read a rack elevation, a cable schedule, and a port map without needing them explained.
Methodical hardware troubleshooting: isolate, swap, verify, document.
Ability to keep a ticket queue clean, and document what actually changed in closed tickets.
Work safely around live power and follow lockout/tagout without shortcuts.

Nice To Haves

Fiber termination and testing.
GPU or HPC hardware experience.
DCIM tooling experience.
Forklift or lift equipment certification.

Responsibilities

Rack, cable, and validate GPU servers and network hardware across live data halls, working to deployment schedules measured in days, not weeks.
Run structured cabling, optics cleaning, and link testing so every port passes before compute hands over to production.
Execute break-fix on servers, switches, and PDUs, swapping failed components and closing tickets the same shift they open.
Track every asset movement in the inventory system so rack elevations, cable maps, and counts stay accurate as the site scales.
