About The Position

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking Data Center Technicians to support our customers in multiple locations across the United States. This role is crucial for ensuring the availability and reliability of data center operations, meeting or exceeding defined service levels. The position involves hardware and network diagnostics, physical repair, and may include participation in an on-call rotation. Successful candidates will work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong work prioritization, organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to react quickly. Responsibilities extend to installing equipment, creating documentation, innovating solutions, and problem-solving within the Data Center Space. This team operates in an environment that runs 24/7.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience
  • 1+ years of computer networking experience
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • 1+ years of server hardware troubleshooting and repair experience
  • Ability to work in an environment that operates 24/7 with an ability to participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed
  • Willingness to work shift work that will include days/nights/weekends/holidays
  • Willingness to travel within and outside of regional work area
  • Must have a reliable personal vehicle and valid driver's license to travel within the regional work area, as company transportation will not be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Performing server rack installations, hardware break-fix on various components, troubleshooting network issues, and responding to operational incidents that impact service availability, escalating to senior technicians and management as needed/required
  • Serving as a primary contact point for both internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors
  • Performing on-call duties and participating in scheduled maintenance and change management activities
  • Contributing to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on your analysis of operational issues
  • Helping to train and onboard new team members
  • Taking ownership of technical issues brought by their customer base, engaging other teams when needed to drive resolution
  • Solving problems at their root and stepping back to understand the broader context
  • Maintaining service level agreements through the implementation of proactive issue detection and reporting
