About The Position

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the launch team for a new Fredericksburg, VA site. The role will be based primarily in Fredericksburg, with potential travel to Stafford, Louisa, and Manassas during the initial phase to support operational needs and training. Candidates must be available to work any day or evening shifts throughout the week. AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, including data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment. The team works on challenging problems impacting the supply chain and collaborates across AWS to deliver high standards for safety and security, providing infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost. The position of Data Center Technician will help ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels of data center operations. This involves in-depth hardware and network diagnostics, physical repair, and participation in an on-call rotation.

Requirements

1+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience
1+ years of computer networking experience
High school or equivalent diploma
Ability to lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds

Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure

Responsibilities

Ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels of data center operations
Perform in-depth hardware and network diagnostics
Conduct physical repair of hardware and network equipment
Participate in an on-call rotation
Provide after-hours support as needed
Support operational needs and training (regional travel may be required during the initial phase)
